  • The dust has not settled after another incredible London marathon, but it's time for the handicap once again. We now move to the Summer long course in the very park which gives this wonderful club its name. Two laps of the figure-of-eight course plus one short straight, exactly 5 miles. For those new to the club, the... more
    Pig on the run!Rodney M, Thu Apr 13 13:35
This pig nearly ruined my prep for London Marathon and Comrades. I guess it's freedom mattered the most at the time. Nearly knocked me out :-)

Hi Folks, A work colleague, Richard Sadler, asked if I could post this on his behalf. Richard is a self confessed gadget man hence the number of Garmin and Polar running watches below. Most items are hardly used and so in new/nearly new condition. If you're interested in any of these Richard is happy for you to call... more

Hello all A reminder about this Saturday's John Anstey Memorial 20 mile Road Race. It will take place solely within the park starting at 10:00am near the Royal Inn on the Park pub on Grove Road. Expect it to be hard work mentally and physically - a long and repetitive 8 laps of the park's figure-of-8 circuit, but if... more

September is nearly at and end - this week the last Thursday of the month rolls around, meaning it's time for the handicap once again. I think its safer to say that I'm happy to be back running again after a long lay off with plantar fasciitis and some knee problems. I’ve also learned that it requires equal amounts of energy and efforts to be a spectator similar to that required by you who were running yesterday's cross country. I was exhausted :-).... more
A great turnout for the annual club XC race. Moved to January due to a busy calendar in December, it was a cold and frosty morning. However, the sun shone and there was no wind. So, perhaps a little less muddy than desired but good conditions nonetheless. 45 runners crossed the finish line, which is possibly a record, ... more

This Saturday is the annual inter-club competition (mob match) at Loughton - the 'Ware Cup', dating back to the early 80’s. Traditionally we have been very strong in this competition - we are the men's trophy holders since 2011, but lost the Women's in the same year sadly. There was no race in 2012 due to a flooded... more
Hello all A note about the annual mob match fixture with local friends and rivals, Eton Manor. As we did in Jan 2014 the event will be based at the Eton Manor's clubhouse in Leyton Jubilee Park (just north of the marshes, Marsh Lane E10). This is a great fun event against our friends and rivals at Eton Manor. Whilst... more
