My wonderful Sasha, probably part Bengal, has a high lymphocyte count with some abnormalities. I will make an appt for an ultrasound so they can look at her liver and spleen. She is behaving normally, but has lost weight though stable now for a month. She has a high normal thyroid count, but it's the lymphocytes that... more

Hello Everyone, Just a short note to let you know that we recently moved from New Mexico to Florida. Yes, the kitties came with us and they are doing just fine in their new home. I think it helped that we kept our furniture and their things and moved them here rather than selling it all and buying new. Actually I... more

I hope everyone and their kitties are well. My herd is doing well. In August, we added a tuxedo kitten. He was dumped in a local park and had started to go feral. I took him to adoptions a few times and he was so terrified that we decided to keep him.

The holiday season is upon us and I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone who has opened their home to one or more cats. This time of year is hard for rescues and I'd like to encourage everyone to give a donation to a local rescue. The ones in the worst need of financial support are the small rescues that you see... more

How is everyone doing these days? Our weather has been prime time for flea breeding. To keep it in control, I've had to go to treating the herd every 3 weeks. One of mine is very allergic to flea bites and will scratch herself raw.

Gracie and Tina are getting along quite well now. They both have the run of the house and Gracie is warming up to her new friend. It's amazing that it took only about 10 days for us to get to this point. Gracie is such a sweet cat that I was pretty sure she would come around. It also helped that Tina has become very... more

It has been a while since I have been on this board but you all were so very helpful when I first brought home my Tiva as a kitten almost 8 years ago. Sadly about a month and a half ago Tiva was diagnosed with cancer, to the shock of both myself and the vet!!! They narrowed it down to multiple myeloma or lymphoma. I... more

Last Friday we went to a local shelter and picked out an adorable little grey and white tabby girl. She has white feet so she came with the name Socks. We decided to name her Calcitines which is the Spanish word for socks. I call her Tina for short. She is 5 months old which is a little younger than we intended but... more

Gracie seems to be rather lost without her brother. She is now 8 years old and had George around for her whole life. How hard will it be for her to adjust to a new companion? I was thinking of getting a young female...not a kitten...but maybe 6 months old or so. There are plenty of shelter Kitties that need good homes ... more

This morning we said Goodbye to George. His heart disease caused a clot which traveled to his hip area where it cut off all circulation to his legs and was very painful as well as causing paralysis to his lower body.. There was nothing that could be done. So we had him put to sleep. We will miss him very much but we... more

From left to right, Stitch (white), Frodo (back to camera), Gimpy (center), Iris (black), and Moxie. Frodo is my oldest at 6 1/2. She is my 3 legged cat. Stitch is visually impaired and has respiratory issues. Gimpy cannot walk due to a genetic disorder that doesn't allow his body to absorb calcium. Iris & Moxie have... more

George and Gracie are doing pretty well at the moment. George just had an echocardiogram and the results showed that his heart condition has worsened, which was not surprising. He is now on four drugs to manage his CHF and to prevent clots from forming in his enlarged left atrium. So far so good on the meds. Gracie's... more
