“Count your blessings. Once you realize how valuable you are and how much you have going for you, the smiles will return, the sun will break out, the music will play, and you will finally be able to move forward the life that God intended for you with grace, strength, courage, and confidence.” -- Og Mandino

"Will we change the world? You know the answer by now. You can count on it." -- Joe Solmonese

Hello! Welcome to Mel’s chat page! Mel is a black, large standard Australian Labradoodle who was born on May 12, 2003. He has a fleece/wool coat and is about 28 inches tall and a scrawny 58 pounds. He is a very mellow dog and very easy to live with. He is very poodley, so I often refer to him as my "poodley-dood".

Any posts that are anonymous, hostile, or dealing with any sort of "political" issue will be deleted. Our goal in designing this chat page is to provide a safe place for labradoodle/goldendoodle lovers to talk about their wonderful dogs, but it is NOT a place where any sort of hostile debate will occur. The moderator of the page is who determines what posts are deleted, not the contributors to the page. If you do not wish to abide by these rules, we kindly ask that you do not contribute to the page. We take pride in the fact that we have, for 3 years, been able to provide a chat page that is family friendly and free from doodle politics. Everyone that posts here understands that, and we are proud to present to you the very best of the doodle world!

At the bottom of the page we have added a "Mel's Words of Wisdom" section. The quotes are all from my personal favorite list, or ones emailed to me. If you have a favorite quote or poem you would like added, please drop me a line and let me know. Also, if you would like to have a link added to our favorite links section, please let me know via email. Thank you!

NEW! Mel's Words of Wisdom

"It does not make so much a difference perhaps as to the number of days we live as it does to the manner in which we live the days we do live." - Dr. Anna Howard Shaw

"Jump into the middle of things, get your hands dirty, fall flat on your face, and then reach for the stars" -Joan L. Curcio

"It's kind of fun to do the impossible" -Walt Disney

"The sun is going to shine and the rain is going to fall. in the end, you will get burned & you will get wet. it's guaranteed. so dance in the puddles, and bathe in the sun, and through it all, smile. it's all going to be alright in the end."

"In a world where you can be anything, be yourself."

"Unless someone like you, cares a whole lot. Nothing is going to get better, it's not." -Dr.Seuss, The Lorax

"Hope the best, expect the worst, life's a play and we are unrehearsed." -Dr.Seuss

"I learned that things change, people change, and it doesn't mean you forget the past or try to cover it up. It simply means that you move on and treasure the memories. Letting go doesn't mean giving up, it means accepting that some things weren't meant to be."

"Some people have big dreams, some people have small dreams. No matter which you have, the most important thing is that you never stop dreaming."

"Happiness is a voyage, not a destination."

"We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made."-M. Acklam

"You know a dream is like a river, ever changing as it flows.
And a dreamer's just a vessel that must follow where it goes.
Trying to learn from what's behind you and never knowing what's in store makes each day a constant battle just to stay between the shores.
And I will sail my vessel 'til the river runs dry.
Like a bird upon the wind, these waters are my sky.
I'll never reach my destination if I never try,
So I will sail my vessel 'til the river runs dry.
Too many times we stand aside and let the water slip away.
To what we put off 'til tomorrow has now become today.
So don't you sit upon the shore and say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids and dare to dance the tides." -Garth Brooks

"Never say more than is necessary." -Richard Brinsley Sheridan

"When one door closes another opens. But often we look so long so regretfully upon the closed door that we fail to see the one that has opened for us."-Alexander Graham Bell

"Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine."

"Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail."-Confucius

"Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are."-John Wooden

"When we see men of a contrary character, we should turn inwards and examine ourselves."-Confucius
