CCOT offers cargo window and rear corner window weatherstrip for 7-'71 and up. I have a 1970 non-USA FJ40. I measured the three windows and my dimensions are slightly longer than what CCOT measured. However, they were able to just stretch it out and measure full length. I'm sure I would be a little shorter going... more
I have a 73 fj4 clear title, hard top, straight 6, running, new carburator, new battery, new mud tires, replaced radiator from cool cruisers, heater working, new stereo system with speakers. Lots of original parts. Wanting to sell if anyone is interested.
every now and then , recently, the starter does not engage when I turn the key to start position. The Amp meter pegs. If I leave the car in gear and bump the starter switch, the starter works fine. This is a new starter installed a few years ago when I put everything back together.
Hello All! I am parting out a 76' FJ40. It's been a daily driver of mine for 11 years but I am restoring a 77' and don't need two Cruisers! The body is mostly unfixable,( in my opinion) but the car is complete. Motor has under 5,000 miles on re-ground crank, new bearings and seals, new man-a-fre cam. didn't do the... more
I have a 76 tub I have never been able to part with but will never finish the job. I have the 76 frame that I made a jig out cause the front was cut hacked. I have it set up with small industrial wheels so it can be rolled around the garage. I have left and right quarters that I bought from CCOT and the inner and... more
The brakes on my 40 are bad, after banging on the rear drums for an hour I did get the drums off and to my bad luck every thing was frozen up and rusted. It looks like I need new shoes, wheel cylinders, and maybe one drum. Should the way to go be a rear disc? It looks like I may need a axel seal on one side too. I am... more

Looking for a later model FJ40 in excellent condition, restored or mostly completed to include larger 6 cylinder engine (4.2 ltr) Also upgrades on suspension done as well as electrical and other necessities. I'm trying to decide which 285/75/16 mud terrain tire to buy for my FJ40. I want something quiet for the long 70mph drives to the trail head, and something with treads extending down the sidewalls for rock crawling. I'm thinking of buying Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ, Dick Cepek Mud Country or Cooper Discover STT. I'm not ... more
I inherited a 1976 Fj from my grandfather with minimal rust. I have about 15k to put into restoring it, and am not a stickler for everything being original. How far will that budget get me in restoring it?
