I did a v8 conversion on my 78 FJ40 and bought a new fuel tank in the process. What do I really need from my oem fuel system to have it work decsent. I had the fuel evaporator disconnected and the fuel vent tube that is on the side of the tank nearest to the driver disconnected. It ran fine but built up pressure and... more


Tranny/Transfer Case Support — Dan, Tue Nov 17 11:25pm
1978 FJ40. The transfer case bolts to the four speed tranny. The tranny bolts to the bell housing with four bolts. There are no other visible supports to support the transfer/tranny combo. Are the four bolts to the bell housing the only thing that supports these two heavy components? Is there a missing cross piece?

My choke is acting up on my 87 FJ-60. It's stuck in the open position, and when I push on it it doesn't want to stay in the closed position. Is this a cable problem? Any easy fix ideas?
