I have an 1983 FJ40, with a 2.5" lift on it. The garage where I store it has a low clearance, so I need to take .5 to 1" off the height. Can I remove a lower leaf spring or too? OR is there a better alternative besides taking the lift kit out all together or replaying my 31X10.5 tires?

I have a Warn M12,000 on my 66'Fj40. There is 125 foot capacity of steel cable on the drum. I am going to replace with synthetic cable. My question is; do you replace with the same amount of synthetic cable as there is steel cable? Are you able to put more or less synthetic? Thanks!

Hi Im Kevin and I have a '74 FJ40 that I put a '95 Vortec 4.3 in with the 4L60E and an ASCO transfer, stock diffs. I all of the fuel injection junk off the 4.3 and put a castiron intake with an AFB Carb and auto TH350 Trans and the same ASCO Transfer. The engine runs great with lots of power but at around 15mph the... more

I have acquired an FJ40 that will need a frame off to do it write. The cruiser has what appears to be 2 gas tanks. It has the key open door tank and then it looks like one was added on same side towards the rear. Have you ever heard of this 2nd tank? If so, I dont think I need and I would like to remove soon. HELP! I have a 74 FJ40 with a 1 1/2 F engine, made in 10/74. It began missing badly. I replaced all plugs, wires, distributor cap,points, and coil. I have fire to the coil but nothing leaving the coil. Any help would be appreciated. THANK YOU!

I BOUGHT A 74 FJ40 W/ THE ORIGINAL INLINE 6 CYL. MOTOR. IT SAT FOR APPROXIMATELY 12 YEARS IN A SHED AND SOMEHOW GOT WATER INTO THE BACK TWO CYLINDERS (BY FIREWALL). i HAVE THE MOTOR STRIIPED AND READY TO PULL, BUT 1) CAN'T GET THE SHIFTER OUT?
