Hello fellow HIPPIES !!! Just want to update on my THR. Its been 11 days since surgery and was moved from walker to a cane today. May not seam like a big thing to some folks but to me it is. Pain meds are being cut down by me also to half of what was prescribed. Im going to try a long walk outside as soon as it warms... more

We moved to the Nashville, Tn area last year from Arizona. I was wondering if anyone knows a good doctor here. Please let me know it would just be for checkup. I currently go to curves for woman and i walk daily but i can't seem to ditch the 20 lbs i gained since surgery. my doctor says no jogging or aerobics that i used to do prior to surgery to control my weight. Just got home from the hospital where I had a THR on my left hip. Total time in was 2 1/2 days and 3 physical therepy sessions. Did 4 laps round nurses station. Have had real bad hiccups since surgery and no one is conserned. Any Ideas ????? Sugar, honey, peanutbutter and breathing into a bag has not helped...

Hi All! I have been experiencing some pain in my right groin after bending down to pick up something off the ground. I had my RTHR in October 2008. It does not hurt while going down, but hurts when I straighten up. Any advice, or similar experiences out there? Also had LTHR in Feb. 2009. Thanks!

I had a right THR about 6 years and now need a MRI for my back. Although I've been assured there's nothing to worry about still I'm concerned about a big magnet being so close to my hip....which is c/c. Has anyone had one with a THR and do I have any reason for concern? Thanks a lot

Is walking , not jogging, on a treadmill ok? I live in the NE and ice and snow prevent me from walking as much as i would like, but i hesitate using my treadmill. Had a TRH and today was the 3 month visit to OS. He is very pleased with my recovery. Have tossed away the cane, walking without a limp. Haven't even taken pain med since leaving rehabs.
