Hip pain after 2 1/2 yearsHelen Marquez, Sat Mar 18 7:29pm
My husband had a partial hip replacement in August, 2014 after he fell. He also has Alzheimer's, so he can't describe the pain. This past Wednesday, he began to complain of pain in his hip. He complained about it again on Thursday, so I began to take it seriously. Because of his disease, he generally doesn't register... more

Does Dr. Crutcher have very competent associates in his practice? I ask because he is 58 years old and I need a surgeon who will be practicing for many years down the road. Does anyone know anything about the other surgeons in his practice? Thanks.

Can someone recommend a surgeon in the Seattle area? I had a THR in 1998, with one revision in 2007 and a second revision in 2013 - done by Paprovsky in Illinois. I am now in the Seattle area and need an ortho surgeon for follow up. I also had a pelvic fracture on the same side as the THR. My hip is holding its own,... more

    Front hip painbarb2003, Sat Feb 25 3:09am
Hi. I had PAO for my right hip dysplasia 14 years ago. I've been doing well the last 14 years. Lately I've had lower back pain. I was told I have bone on bone between two vertebra - the disc is gone. I'm 55. Recently I've been having hip pain intermittently. Starting yesterday it's been painful to walk sometimes. The... more

Way back in the dark ages, I had hip replacement surgery and part of the cost was born by my husband's employers" insurance. I have no idea what it cost then. This past year I've had two hip debridement surgeries, accompanying rehab center work, antibiotic therapy fortunately covered by Medicare and United Healthcare... more

Hi Everyone, My recovery from my third THR Sept 30 is going really well, thanks partly to a great PT and to continuing to do the exercises. I'm pretty much able to do all the daily activities easily, except stairs are still a little challenging. But the other day I noticed swelling in the knee of the operated side,... more

Hello there. I just found this Support Group and wanted to reach out. I am in my early 50 and had THR on left hip 5 months ago due to hip dysplasia. Five Weeks--and anteverted!sarah, Fri Nov 4 8:04am
Hi Everyone, Today is five weeks post-THR on my left. I saw the OS on Wednesday and he showed me the x-rays. He used a different kind of implant, one that corrects for anteversion. Seems the left hip, the one I was born with, was tilted, off-kilter to the right. I don't fully understand this, even though he showed it... more

    Hip Replacement?Heather, Tue Nov 1 9:00pm
Hello, Long story short, I have been struggling with severe chronic pain in my left hip for 7 years. It has substantially worsened over the last 6 months. My doctors refuse to prescribe me anything stronger than a mild NSAID for the pain which means most nights I get 4 hours of sleep tops, and that's not sequential. I ... more

Thanks for your response. PT is good advice the only problem is that I had to stop PT shortly after I did my THR due to the fact that it was messing up my back. I have stenosis and four discs are moving forward and there is some bulging. As always I appreciate all your advice. Best regards.
