It CAN be meaningful - Clarence Thomas is rigidly right-wing and incapable of thinking otherwise - but not all the time. Roberts seems fairly sensible, and even the new guys have been a bit unpredictable.

Still, it WAS chicanery, and Gorsuch shouldn't be on there. Obama should've simply sworn in Garland and dared that asshat McConnell to do anything about it.
