I have a memory like an elephant, and I find almost nothing inconsistent in what people have said about their personal lives over the years. It is extremely difficult to make up untrue stuff about one's self and to maintain a consistant profile over the span of several years. There's only maybe one or two people I have run across on this board and on my board who are trying to be something they're not, but they are maintaining consistency. Just because there are some whose personal accomplishments exceed yours is no reason to take them with a distrustful grain of salt.
