I never have figured out why police insist that people sign a traffic ticket ... just more bullshit. You don't have to sign a parking ticket. You don't have to sign for service from the sheriff or US Marshall. No, the police have to be authoritative and in your face. Just give the old lady the ticket and leave the scene. If she doesn't pay it on time and doesn't show up in court, then implement Plan B. Cops are just too hell bent on everything having to be done their way when there are other more sensible ways.

The cop would have been better serving the community by sitting on the side of the road at the construction site with his blue and red lights flashing to warn people to slow down. If anything, his actions were more an endangerment to everyone than hers.
