You can't write me a ticket. So, being nice to you can't get me out of a ticket. It can't save me money.

I KNOW that I am an asshole. But I am intelligent enough to know WHEN to act like an asshole and when not to.

Thus on a BBS there is no reason NOT to be an asshole if that is who I am.... HOWEVER, on the side of the road, there are SEVERAL reasons NOT to be an asshole. The first being that I might get out of the ticket entirely by being pleasant. The second being that I might be running into ANOTEHR asshole out there... And if BOTH of us are assholes out there, and he is the one with the taser, I am probably not going to be the one coming out on top.

You see I am intelligent enough to set aside my personal emotional DESIRE to be an asshole for the greater good of getting out of tickets and avoiding being tased...

And I do believer that the average civilian, just like me, IS capable of exercising that same level of emotional restraint.
