And there mere PRESENCE of an asshole does not cause a REASONABLE person to fear for their life...

The key word will be reason...

And given the thousands, if not tens of thousands of people this guy has doubtless stopped and interacted with WITHOUT tasing them, will prove quite well in court that you did NOT indeed have a reasonable cause to be in fear for your life.
