Subject The fact of the matter is ...

... it is all one big lie. The moment you plug the car in to recharge, more fossil fuel is being burned somewhere to provide the electricity ... so the overall effect on Earth is the same. The nation is maxed out on hydro- and nuke-generated electricity, so all incremental electricity is provided by burning coal, oil or natural gas. Furthermore, electricity from wind and solar do not really enter into the equation since these forms of power generation are not demand-responsive, nor do they provide any significant source of electricity into the power grid. The only form of instant demand-sensitive power generation is hydro ... the penstock gates can adjust on a moment's notice ... but for any given duration, hydro is maxed out because you can run only so much water thru a given waterway and maintain flood control and shipping lanes.

Only someone in denial like Al Gore would buy an electric car ... thus pushing the pollution into someone else's back yard ... like he does with his $30,000/year fuel bill at his residence here in Nashville. How ethical is that? Shame on the Nobel folks for giving him or Obama a Cracker Jack Prize.
