Subject When you are a professional politician ...

... you are a public figure with obligations to those who elected you and to the nation that is paying for you on the public payroll ... success is no longer merely accomplishing your own personal goals.

Perhaps you should read 'Plato's Republic' ... maybe you would then better understand the obligations that are incumbent upon public servants ... servant being the operative word.

Would you opt to build a 100 story skyscraper if you had no structural engineering skills? Would you opt to lead our troops in war if you had no military experience. Would you opt to manage the national fiscal policy if you had no business experience? Would you opt to fly a 767 if you had no pilot training?

In the pure Platonic sense, Obama should have never run for office because ha has been unable to deliver that which the highest offices obligate the incumbent to deliver. In other words, he was not up to delivering what the offices demanded. He fooled the people and won a popularity contest ... that's all ... in the end, it will be pretty inconsequential.
