Boeing 707s flew faster in the 1960s than the latest jets ... supersonic jets have gone by the wayside. Air travel really sucks these days. In the 1960s, one could travel on an airplane with a loaded pistol packed in your briefcase. Now, you will be shit-listed if you travel with a nail clipper.

Automobiles are only slightly better than in the 1960s ... the steering geometry appears to be the greatest improvement. As time progresses, cars are being loaded up with useless, failure-prone features and gadgets, some of which are quite dangerous as they distract the driver. Nobody needs a Facebook interface built into their navigation system ... in fact, nobody needs a navigation system ... if you don't know where the hell you are going and how to get there, please stay at home ... or use Google Maps at home to plan your trip in advance.

Homes and appliances are about the same. A lot of newer appliances don't last as long as their counterparts in the 1960s.

With the advent of Human Resources, the quality of corporate life has taken a great plunge.

Government at all levels really sucks, especially at the federal level.

We are losing our country to illegal aliens.

Our educational standing among nations has taken a 20 point plunge.

We have virtually destroyed our manufacturing infrastructure as we have sold our souls to the outsourcing devil.

In 50 years, we have seen great cities like Detroit and Cleveland decay. Many other cities in the Rust Belt and in California are going to hell in a handbasket.

In a way, I am fortunate that I have lived through the best of times, and hopefully everything won't turn to shit before I "graduate", and I will be able to ride it out in style on my golden ship before it is confiscated by an ever-oppressive socialistic government.
