At Vanderbilt, we started an annual "Giving Day" last year that lasts 24 hours and has multiple matching challenges. The goal this year was to raise about $2 million from 6300 donations.

One donor just handed in a check for $3 million. Another gave $200,000. JuJu & I didn't give that much.

This is in addition to our ongoing annual fundraising which brings in significantly more.

Vanderbilt is becoming a mecca of its own, with a world-class campus. The capital investment in architecturally-significant buildings over the past decade or so has been phenomenal.

Academically, we are on our way to a place in the top ten. The challenge is intense. The response is overwhelming.
