Subject Like fine Iranian carpets of yore

planned imperfections so as not to offend a perfect god.

Bought new car. Traded in 5yo CaddyCTS, got promo discounts of $10,500 plus decent trade-in.

Looked at others: No more BMWs - maintenance nightmares. Mercedes - Stodgy. Jap - fugly. Porsche/Audi/VW - ho-hum. Volvo - nyet. Ford - Explorer & Edge OK. Range/Land Rover - no way. Chrysler - never ever ever.

Cadillac looks best IMO, and, oddly enough, seems to have lowest overall 5 YR ownership cost of about $450/month not including fuel for a mid-luxury $50K± vehicle.

I had a Cadillac Sedan DeVille back in 1977, and it was perhaps the worst car I ever had. I swore I would never buy another GM car. In 2009, I capitulated and bought a 3.6L CTS - awesome, but it developed leaks. Traded for 3013 CTS AWD … one of best cars ever. I have owned multiple BMWs, Mercedes, etc, but I got'ta say Cadillac has done a metamorphosis and turned from a toad to a prince. The XTS sedan is a bit fuddy-duddy, but the CTS, CT6, ATS and XT5 are perhaps superior to BMW and Mercedes, with a bit of "Batman-wham-glam" styling as opposed to same-old-same-old year-in-year-out kidney grill & L-taillight or banal Hitleresque 3-point star.
