Being that our business is as portable as a laptop, we have been known to plan a trip at midnight and be there the next day ... Seattle, San Diego, Annapolis, Cincinnati, Naples ... wherever.

It backfired on us once. On a spur of the moment, we flew to Manchester, NH with the intent of cruising Maine. Had a nice dinner in Portsmouth right on the ocean front, then proceeded to drive North into Maine. The further we drove, the more booked everything was. The damn place was full of campers and boat trailers. Warn't wot we expected. Finally, about 2AM, we stopped in the parking lot of a fully booked Holiday Inn (ugh!), caught 40 winks, then drove all the way South thru Boston to Newport, RI. We stopped at the waterfront Marriott about 6 AM or so, and they told us that they were booked, but that they might be able to find us something. They asked for our cell phone number and suggested that we go to a coffee shop down the way and wait until we heard from them. About 30 minutes later, they called us and told us they had a room for us. It was a super-nice suite. We slept all that day and the next.

Relationships are built on shared experiences. We are together 24/7/365, so we have an abundance of shared experiences.
