Jim Dickinson, 1941-2009
Legendary producer Jim Dickinson passed away this weekend at the age of 67. Dickinson, who worked with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Ry Cooder, Willy DeVille, and countless others (as well as siring two-thirds of the North Mississippi All Stars), produced such classics as Big Star's "Third" and the Replacements' "Pleased To Meet Me," an album which went immediately into heavy rotation in at least one 14-year-old boy's room back in 1987. There's a nice remembrance
here.
