Hi,
I don't know if you recall, but I had posted here a while back about my '95 TFR. It had a clacking at low rpm. I had just rebuilt the bottom end and put a 64cc kit on it, ect....
Well I decided that I could live with the clack. So I did not replace the con rod bushing. The other day I stared it in the morning, it started to warm up for a second then it died. I tried to start it again the pedals were stuck. I didn't have time to deal with it. Yesterday I took off the cylinder head & there is a big score down the cylinder wall three notches in the side of the piston and a destructed piston ring. Que the laughter.
Obviously I need a new cylinder, piston , rings, blah blah blah.
I am worried about debris in the crank case. I really don't want to split the case. I honda bonded it and its got rtv around the seam. What a Mess! Any suggestions for trying to clean the crank case??
Thnks

no easy way on this one unless you ran it through a MRI machine. Some times there are no short cuts.

Yeah, I may not have a choice but to open up the crank case. Once I have the time I think I will try to remove & collect every piece I can from the busted rings and see how much is missing. If I can... more

Hey Thomas, Whenever I get debris in my case I usually just rinse out the case thoroughly with gasoline. Good luck! Justinnn
