The day following Mr Parkers passing I found myself ,as luck would have it, at a kenpo seminar in San Jose, Ca. It was taught by Huk Planas, and hosted by Joe Meyer. We all attempted to support each other emotionally as best we could, when suddenly a legendary Loa Loa instructor showed up and spent 30 minutes talking about what Mr Parker meant to him and to Hawaiian martial arts. Mr Planas related that this particular Loa master so rarely appeared in public, he was thought to be deceased. Gradually other martial arts masters appeared, and expressed their saddness, coming together by word of mouth. A very beautiful tribute.
