Well, it may not be the last laugh, but . . ..
Tue Nov 28, 2006 5:52pm

Tsuga was rather not expecting the person she’d intruded upon to show any interest in her aside from irritation. Kiari’s sudden interest in her was a bit alarming, and Tsuga shifted uncomfortably under the scrutiny. It was a somewhat disconcerting to have such an intense gaze turned on her from out of the blue, but when the Accepted mentioned reading, Tsuga realized why the other woman seemed so familiar.

“Read? Well, yes, actually. Say, I think I remember you now – you’re the one that fell out of the tree, right?” She quirked a brief smile. That had been quite an encounter, and the memory of it still tickled her funny bone. After all, it wasn’t often that it snowed initiates, even if the area might appear so if one looked from above.

“So what? You graduated from climbing trees to playing music? You’re on your way to being a regular one-woman show.” Okay, so it wasn’t very funny, but still Tsuga laughed at the joke. Her sense of humor was definitely warped, but she thought it had been hilarious. Not that anyone else would, especially when the joke was at the expense of her only audience. Oh well.

Managing to sober up a bit, Tsuga wiped the smile from her angular face and glanced around briefly, brown eyes taking in the almost desolate look of their surroundings. “You hiding too?” From the Accepted’s expression, it was obvious that she still was still puzzling over the non-joke and hadn’t quite kept up with Tsuga’s unusual pattern of thought. “I was following the music – what’s your excuse for being out here all alone? I didn’t interrupt anything, did I?”

Perhaps it was a bit late to ask such a question, but it only now occurred to her that perhaps the Accepted had been out here waiting for someone, and that Tsuga had maybe intruded. She never did like feeling unwelcome, and under such a focused stare, she was beginning to feel that Kiari was quite simply willing her to go away.

“I mean, if you’d rather be alone, I’ll go . . . I was just wondering where the music was coming from . . ..”

Never let it be said that Tsuga could conduct herself like a civilized human being in a social situation – no, she was definitely just a sword-swinging barbarian (at least when she was uncomfortable or confused).

OOC: Wow, that was a sucky post. But that is kinda funny! ^_^ And I apologize for Tsuga's sense of humor; she gets it from me, what can I say? Lol.
