In Anonimity
Sat Dec 23, 2006 3:35pm

Kieran pulled the sleeves on his black coat down over his wrists, and then glanced down with his deep blue eyes, making sure all of the buttons were made up correctly. Not that he was all that worried about his appearance, considering the fact he hadnít even touched his black hair, he just didnít want to look like a slob. He might be as lucky this time as he was at the last festival. Of course, he hadnít run into Evie since that night, but perhaps that was a good thing. It was either a good thing, considering she might have hard feelings about what they did while she was intoxicated, or a very bad thing, if she didnít regret what they had done. Kieran didnít let himself dwell on those thoughts, and instead went back to looking himself over, to make sure his black uniform was clean.

In a way, he wished that he didnít have to wear this black uniform, because the young men from the last festival would most likely be there, and this time they would have the advantage over Kieran. Of course, if there really was a disturbance, Kieran could just give them the slip, but he wanted to enjoy himself, and not worry about the idiotic Trainees he had dealt with at Bel Arvina. Running his fingers through his hair, brushing it slightly, he swept away those thoughts. If nothing else, he would pay those young men back for disturbing his night.

He would be going to the White Tower for this festival, and he was going to have a good time. Perhaps he would spend some time with his friend, a Dedicated by the name of Zander, which was the only person alive save for himself that knew Kieranís past. That had been a very awkward time, when Kieran had learned what he has revealed one night in a drunken stupor to Zander. Luckily, Zander was not one to go and tell those around him the truth. No one else knew that Kieranís roll as a Healer was only a faÁade, instead of him actually being an Assassin, which he had been before he had come to the Black Tower, but not by choice. Now, he didnít know what else he could do but be an assassin. He trained as a Healer, true, but he would never get out of his assassinís nature.

He made his way with his fellow Black Tower initiates, as well as with some Ashaímen, towards the Traveling Gate that opened into the White Tower. He then followed them into what he heard people call the Entrance Hall, and some woman, the Amyrlin Seat he believed they called her, announced that the festival was open.

He saw a young man he recognized, but whom was gone before Kieran was able to place him, and it was too late for him to pursue the young man. It was an Accepted that Kieran had had a bit of trouble with one lesson a few months ago. Tristen. Yes that had been his name. Kieran sighed to himself, and quickly forgot the Accepted as he began to immerse himself into the Feast of Lights. He was here to enjoy himself, not bring up past revenges. Maybe he would be lucky enough to spend the night with a White Tower initiate, rather than once from his own Tower. Not that the women at the Black Tower were to be scoffed at, but he just didnít want a repeat of the night of Bel Arvina.

With that thought, he strode deeper into the crowd, not noticing the wide, surprised eyes of an AethaníTar on his back.
