Hoggards of Barton le willows
Sun Dec 15, 2013 8:41pm

I have traced over 60 ancestors for my direct family tree and funny enough just having problems over the closest relatives.
Henry is in the 1901 census as being born in 1870 in Barton le Willows and being a Brewers Carter. In 1911 he has become a farm labourer but still born in 1870.
I found his marriage certificate in 1897 here he is marked as 28 years old which would be 1870/71. His profession is Drayman which I believe is another name for Brewers carter. Hear it clearly states his father is a John Hoggard.
I found a John Hoggard born in Barton le Willows in 1844 but no John Hoggard with a son called Henry in 1870 or any marriages to a John Hoggard. His father was also John Hoggard. born 1806 in Barton le Willows wife Hannah! born 1810. and in 1871 census A grandson Henry is stated as born in 1864 is living with him plus an Elisabeth 1867. I believe that Henry was brought up by the grandparents... but the John Hoggard father of Henry is a mystery! but a mystery I must solve.
I have been researching off and on for 4 months on (find my past) and have accounted for 60 ancestors but just miss a few now. The system is good and easy to work with and costs ok and I enjoy the challenge. Malton was my mothers birthplace and the Hoggards and Marshalls her family roots. Nice to chat with you Bryan.
Best Michael
