Perhaps I can help here. I used to follow these postings conscientiously, but a prolonged period of ill health (now improving) pushed me into idleness and links were missed. However, I have a copy of George Gilroy Hogarth's tree and I hope soon to incorporate it into the master held by what is left of the Burke's Peerage & Landed Gentry publishing company. The master tree available on the Baronage Press website (currently dormant but accessible and planned for resuscitation before Easter) also will be updated.

The query today from Harold in respect of a Firhill in Westmoreland is intriguing, because the Firhill in the tree is in Aberdeen (where there is a Firhill Well and the Firhill name was given to the combined estates of Woodhill and Forresterhill around 200 years ago), and I've never met the Westmoreland link before. There was once a thriving branch of Hogarths in Westmoreland and Cumberland, claimed to have sprung from the early Gordon branch around 1580-1590, but I have no other detail. The location of Firhill there would be very helpful.

Glad that you're recovering. As you've already got a copy and are planning to use it, I'll keep out of the way.
