I am a bit confused with the FIRBANK mentioned, is this a persons forename or is it referring to the Firbank in Westmoreland (now Cumbria)situated on the B6257 north of Kendal? I have been researching the Hoggarth's of Firbank to see if they are linked to my family.
I first came across a Jon Hogarth in the 1871 census for Slaidburn near Clitheroe; where my Gt Grandfather Thomas William Hoggarth was born in 1869; Jon was 73 School Master born Firbank Westmoreland and described as grandfather. There was no head of the family listed on the census but the first person was Emma - 23 - drapers wife. plus Arthur son 10mths

I have found a grave at St John's Church Firbank with a Edward Hoggarth , wife Emma and son Arthur in the grave.
