Sorry for confusing you: yes, I'm the same person in both branches of the thread. But now I am confused: here you wrote
"I've managed to get the game to work in all modes now using compatibility mode"
and in the other message you wrote
"I've tried compatibility mode and it makes no difference"
So which is it? Did you manage to run the game in Direct3D with compatibility mode or not? Or did you mean that you can leave the spacecraft in space in Direct3D mode too?
Also, you wrote that the error "Direct3D9 end scene failed" scrolls in the text window, but when does this happen, exactly?
- when you alt-tab out of the program, so that the graphical part runs in the background and you can read the text in the DOS window (this is normal)
- while the graphical part is running in full screen, and the text interferes with the graphics (this is NOT normal)
Another thing: I don't need screenshots showing that you can leave the ship in space, because they would not tell me *why* you can do that. To discover why that happens, here's what can be done: after I release TADPSID v9, try it and tell me if the problem still occurs. If it does, I will send you (by email or through a download site) a debug version of the executable that dumps information into a log file every time you leave a vehicle. You will have to post the contents of the file here, so I will compare the values you get with the ones I expect.
That will be good if you can get the planets to move around like a real solar system. It would also be good if you can get Damocles to move away like a real comet would do. The new planet would be... more

Sounds good about the update. It looks like OpenGL is probably the best option then with the new version as you get no glitches in space at all at the moment using it. Will you be able to make it so... more
Ok well I look forward to v9. I'm sure as time goes on you will be able to build and add more and more to it so eventually everything will run as it should. I just like that fact you are working in... more
