That's good to know you are the same person. It's confusing with the subject line and also when i'm looking on my mobile phone screen at times.
As for the compatibility issue i'm sorry for confusing you also, I should have been more clear. I reinstalled DirectX and thought the compatibility mode made a difference but it does not. I now have all versions of DirectX now installed but Windows said I already had them installed but I think the installation was corrupted or something and not installed properly so the reinstallation has solved this part at least.
Direct3D in fact is now working whereas before it would not and bring a box up stating Tapsid.exe has performed an illegal operation and not even open at all. The game will now run in all modes but the best mode is OpenGL as you do not get any glitches in the graphics at all apart from the yellow box above your head when you start and I believe in the other planets.
Direct3D9 however causes blue glitches in space whilst you move around. The Direct3D9 end scene failed scrolls in the text window in the background and you can view it by pressing alt-tab when you are playing in fullscreen as you described.
That would be useful with a debug version so it should show you exactly what is going on in the code so it can be fixed when I leave a vehicle in space.
In time i'm sure all of these little bugs in the game can be ironed out and then everything will work as it should.
Sorry for confusing you: yes, I'm the same person in both branches of the thread. But now I am confused: here you wrote "I've managed to get the game to work in all modes now using compatibility... more

Sounds good about the update. It looks like OpenGL is probably the best option then with the new version as you get no glitches in space at all at the moment using it. Will you be able to make it so... more
Ok well I look forward to v9. I'm sure as time goes on you will be able to build and add more and more to it so eventually everything will run as it should. I just like that fact you are working in... more
