News for 2009?
The date is set for SQ09. SoundQuilt returns to Stewart-Matheny Farm near Strasburg, Virginia on Saturday June 20, 2009. It'll be a free event with live music and camping again this year, but folks will need to be invited by the organizers, bands and families to attend. Over-night camping is not only encouraged, it is essential. BYOE=Bring Your Own Everything
Folks who attended any of the 2008 events at Stewart-Matheny Farm will find the set-up very familiar. All of our guests last year were wonderful and are welcome to return in 2009.
Newcomers will definitely want to be on the mailing lists of their favorite bands so they get invited and receive information regarding the 2009 events.
Some folks like to arrive early and make a nice camping nest. The farm opens to quiet camping on Friday for the 1st Annual Hambox Heyday. The SoundQuilt Music Festival begins at Noon on Saturday. All guests must depart on Sunday.
Camping is primitive at Stewart-Matheny Farm. Tent camping and compact RVs are welcome. There are portable toilets provided for guests' conveniece. Trash cans and recyling containers can be found near one of the 4 rest areas.
Please drive slowly when traveling to the event, especially on the private farm lane which is shared by several families who will have no problem confronting guests that drive too fast. 5mph is plenty on the farm roads unless you are a deer. Be cool.
Stay on the trails when hiking/biking at Stewart-Matheny Farm. Trails are blazed, marked by color and maps are available at rests areas or from hosts. Please do not trespass on neighboring property.
More info soon! Hope to see you at Cary Street and at SoundQuilt,
SQ
