Smiling briefly, Sorcha ran her hands through her brunette hair, realising as she did so that it now fell in waves to below her waist. It certainly had gotten rather long of late, and she had not had much time at all to get it cut. As a novice, it had been up to her friends to take a knife to it, and hack away at the waves; luckily for Sorcha, Domiciq was well practiced with the ways of people’s hair and a knife, and she had always done a decent job. Now, as one of the Accepted, Sorcha could freely venture into Tar Valon and find a professional who would be able to cut it nicely, or even give her some new style. Her eyes had always been attracted to those braids that the Taraboners wore, and the coloured beads! Surely the constant clicking would grow tiresome. But all of that would have to wait for another day.

Sorcha was very excited about what was to come today; within her first month of being raised to Accepted, she was being asked to teach a lesson! It wasn’t a lesson full of many novices, however, but an individual lesson. Individual lessons that did no teach a novice how to embrace saidar or seize saidin were not common, but they happened every now and then. Sorcha honestly has no idea why the lesson was happening, but she was not going to question it. Madeline Sedai had approached her only a few days ago and asked her to teach this private lesson to Novice Kareen din Yokiri Wave Singer. Of course she accepted, one did not decline a teaching request from the Mistress of Novices, after all. In fact, Sorcha was very pleased that she had been trusted to teach so soon when she was such a new, recently raised, Accepted – by her standards, at least.

She’d been thinking about what to do ever since she had been asked to teach, because she wanted everything to be perfect. If this lesson went well, then she would surely be asked to teach again. Teaching was something that she had been looking forward to for years, a few years into her life as a novice. She was very determined that everything would go just as she had planned. She had been precise and made all allocations necessary for the lesson to go off without a problem. Since it was indeed a private lesson, she wanted it to be specific and relevant to Novice Kareen, so she had checked a few details with Madeline Sedai when she had accepted to teach the lesson, including important details such as the girl’s strength with the five elements when it came to the One Power.

Checking out her window, Sorcha took the position of the sun as a sign it was time for her to leave her quarters; she was leavening plenty of time to get to the classroom, but it was definitely better that the teacher was early instead of late. It certainly wouldn’t do for the teacher to arrive after the student; it certainly wouldn’t do at all! So she quickly tidied her room – living in a room so luxurious to what she was used to made it easy to keep it clean – before quickly exiting her room and turning left into the corridor.

Sorcha had written a note to Novice Kareen just yesterday––

Novice Kareen din Yokiri Wave Singer!

Tomorrow at midday, you will join Accepted Sorcha Eamonn in classroom 17A, just outside the library, for a private lesson teaching uses of the One Power. Please do not be late, and expect to be in attendance with the lesson for the rest of the afternoon.

In the Light,
Accepted Sorcha Eamonn

––and expected that the girl would no doubt arrive precisely on time. As it turned out, even though she was early, Sorcha did not have to wait very long for the novice to turned up. Sorcha was sitting quietly in the classroom on a chair in the front of the room, the door closed. She’d spent a few moments looking out the window, running through her mind her plan of action for what exactly was going to happen today. A timid knock came at the door, to which she replied––

“Come in,” she said, in a smooth, calm voice.

Trying to maintain the serenity and regality of an Aes Sedai, Sorcha watched as the door swung open and in stepped the novice she’d been waiting for.

OOC: Hello! Well this is just an introduction of sorts to get us off, so have her just say who she is to Sorcha and why she’s here, as any novice would do when confronted with an Accepted in this situation. I’m sure I don’t need to remind you of word count, because you come very highly complimented, so let’s just get this thing moving! I’m looking forward to it. Make sure you email me if you have any problems =)

To any others: this lesson is just for Kayci, aka Kareen, sorry!
