Keeping Green Anoles With Other Animals

It is generally not a good idea to have mixed species enclosures, while technically possible, many issues can arise that are detrimental to the health and well-being of the animals.

Successful mixed species enclosures are often so large that they take up the greater portion of a typical bedroom, and even then there will be issues to contend with such as quarantine and veterinary checks for parasites followed by treatment for any health issues prior to introduction into the mixed species enclosure.

Green anoles are excellent hunters and will often eat anything they can fit in their mouth, this in itself presents a serious problem with keeping them with any other species including frogs which can present a toxicity issue to the anoles.

Most lizards are not above eating each other if the chance becomes available too, and there are few if any size appropriate herps that are fully herbivorous to avoid this issue.

The best thing to do is create a beautifuler single species enclosure and enjoy the green anoles for what they are.
