And they say you have a choice

Jonas rolled his shoulders as he walked out of the classroom. Bloody Seanchan were at it again. The bloody Ilianers can’t even defend their own country. Jonas thought it a pity the Seanchan hadn’t landed their bloody boats in the Borderlands. His fellow countrymen would have driven them right back into the bloody ocean. Bloody Ever Victorious Army. Jonas his thought had been mauling around ever since the beginning of the summer, somehow he had been irritated by the heat. Though it was no different from the heat in the Borderland summers he still though it a personal insult of the sun to burn on him when he was working his forms or weaving some form of destruction on the blasting yard. Jonas locked himself into the Void. Clearing his mind of emotion and feeling. He spend a lot of time in the Void lately, only while he slept was he completely out of the emptiness now.

‘Dedicated Jonas, could you step over hear please.’

Bloody Asha’man. Jonas his thoughts hadn’t calmed down since the morning, and ever since he had set foot on that bloody boat the Void had been slipping out his grasp. Something about the ground not being steady had somehow lessened his chokehold on it.

His almost black eyes scanned around. Five Soldiers and seven Trainees were looking at him. He, Jonas, was now responsible for them. As one of the few Dedicated with a bit of actual fighting experience Jonas was now in charge of his own little squad. His large frame was sitting against the wet boards of the small landing craft. Jonas stretched his legs and folded them into a comfortable sitting position. It would be a while before they landed the beach. Again he took in the men (and boys) that had fallen under his command. Some looked ready, most looked like they regretted ever joining the Black Tower. Slowly Jonas drew out his sword and started wetting it. Though the blade was razor sharp already he hoped his ‘men’ would follow example.

‘In ten minutes I want to see all your packs and blades. If they are not to my standard you’ll be a very tired even before you hit the water.’ How he hated water, especially when there were people trying to kill him on the side that had the most dry land on it. ‘Soldiers, do you know how to Weave a shield of Air?’ They all nodded, Jonas remembered learning that on one of his first days. No you are not nervous, they soldiers mean nothing to you. You don’t even know them. Jonas shook his head, why should he care what happened to them. They are your responsibility. You are in command. You have to keep them alive. A slight tremble assured him that his sword was very sharp, quickly he stuck his thumb in his mouth and gave the Soldier that had seen a frown.

Jonas looked at the last blade and nodded. Their equipment had checked out. He could do no more at the moment to make sure they had a chance. ‘When we hit the water I want every Channeler to be on alert. If you see so much as a sharp looking pebble in the air start weaving a shield of Air around you and the persons next to you. Trainee’s keep close to you bows and make sure the strings a dry. Our first objective it to get to the beach alive and ready to fight.’ His thumb itched where he had cut it, but he ignored it.

The beach was still a few span away.

OOC: Soldiers and trainees can join if you like. I’ll probably continue on Friday if no one had joined.
