It's nice out, thought Salruoth to himself. His stride was brisk, but he kept his patience in check. He had been told, a few moments ago, that there was some lesson to attend to. The M'Hael was teaching it, a rather honour that was but Salruoth had little care to quicken his pace; he was interested in learning more, but he felt little desire to hurry himself up. It was beautiful out, the wind was a welcome to his face and he felt happy, even joyful. He hadn't felt like that for ages, and it was a welcome to finally feel less agitated, still he felt the tension in his shoulders. Bloody hell, he was in the Black Tower! Of all places, your mother would faint just at the notion, thought Salruoth, ruefully. He knew, though, once he got the point where he’d have to learn to control saidin his prior fears would take reign over his emotions.

"You've gone a long way, Salruoth, from the Borderlands," Salruoth muttered to himself, ignoring the few stares that approached him from the others around him. "Blood and bloody ashes, the Black Tower." He never imagined he'd be here, he was a Shienarian and he had always been taught his duty was to fight the Blight. But he could channel!

After he discovered that, he arrived here at the Black Tower. He was going to learn to channel, eh? He was still startled at the knowledge of that, but he felt an eager thirst to learn and his enthusiasm got the better of his prior fear of channeling. If all these men were learning, it couldn't be that horrifying, could it? Still, Salruoth was born with an outstanding respect for the Aes Sedai and he knew it would be difficult, at best, to cope with his new lifestyle. As soon as the thoughts wandered into his head, he crushed them immediately; this was no time to think of foolish things. He was wandering around now, with no sense of direction. Lips curling into a frown, Salruoth struggled to remember where he was to head. His directions had been . . . vague.

Salruoth had paid little heed to where he was walking, but he recognized immediately the description given to him of the building he must head to and then locate the West Classroom. He got lost several times, he hadn't anticipated the place would be this difficult to find. After several moments, the results of trial and error finally got him to the classroom. Although, it looked similar to any other classroom, the imposing figure in it was for sure the one he had been told to see; the M'Hael. The man spoke, and listening intently at the door, Salruoth made to move inside. Before doing so, he remembered what he was supposed to say.

"Hello . . . I was informed to come here by another Asha'man," Salruoth paused for emphasize, and then took the opportunity to respond to M'Hael Lysander's question. "I am from the Borderlands, a Shienarian of Fal Dara and my name is Salruoth del'Kahos." At the last question, Salruoth felt a creeping sense of anxiety close over him.

"Well, yes. I have channeled, I had no idea what in Light's name I was doing and it was the briefest of moments." Salruoth said, in nearly a whisper, "I f-felt like I was going to be overwhelmed by the torrent of saidin."

Salruoth took a deep breath, he recalled the void and sunk his emotions in it. The anxiety vanished, almost immediately and was replaced by the cool, calamity of the void. Focus, Salruoth, thought Salruoth to himself.
