Kieran gave a wince for show, making others believe that it had actually bothered him, and stunned him to be singled out. Of course, it was just enough to cover his grin. He was glad that Zander had decided to joke with him some, rather than treating him like he had committed an act of insubordination. He would actually be pleased to help in the lesson; doing as much as he could to help his only true friend in this world. At least, Kieran hoped that he could say that about Zander.

Kieran grinned as Zander began the lesson, not being able to control his laughs generated by Zander's jokes about the swords. Of course, because of the little 'lesson' before their little drinking escapade, Kieran already knew how to hold a sword, but of course, he hadn't been instructed upon the choosing of one's weapon. So, like most of the other students in the class, he chose the wrong stave at first, but at least Zander had a good humor about it. They were there to be taught, anyway, or else they would be the teachers not the students. He noticed now, after being corrected upon choosing the wrong practice sword, just how wrong it felt in his hands anyhow. He took the stave back, and looked at the others, musing, trying to find the best fit for him. Of course, it would be unlikely that there would be one that was perfect, but Kieran wanted to get as close as possible, especially since he was the lucky one chosen upon to aid the instructor later in the lesson. He couldn't help but won't just what he had been volunteered though, but he knew that he wasn't really entitled to that until the time came.

Eyeing a particular stave, Kieran picked it up, and first measured it to his arm. He grinned when it was the correct length. The balance wasn't exactly perfect, but he could compensate enough to solve that problem. There was even a little bit of room so that he could spread his hands out a bit on the hilt, so that he had a better grip upon the wooden weapon. Once Zander approved of his choice, Kieran demonstrated the hand positions on the hilt as he had learned during that little 'lesson', which was mostly taught by having the stave thwacked out of his hands.

After gaining approval for his holding abilities, Kieran waited as the others were either approved, or gently corrected by Zander before they moved on unto the next part of the lesson.

OOC: I can hardly wait. XD
