In an environment such as the White Tower training yards days -even weeks- could pass in which nothing exceptional happened to an Aethan'Tar. A long blur of same routines, same faces, same practise. Of course, this was not the fault of the Gaidin and Gaidar. As much as parents nag children to finish their chores the Brothers and Sisters to Battle hound the Aethan'Tar to their lessons; for effort, blood and sweat. However, just like children some Aethan'Tar were rather adept at slipping out of tasks. Valla had been such a child, and in many ways, still was a cheeky child.

Those exercises and tasks that Valla deemed important were never shunned, for she would never knowingly cheat herself out of an advantage over the next body. It was more the pushing of boundaries that she experimented with. The Saldaean didn't quite walk the line of insubordination. Perhaps, just a hair's breadth away though. Recently, this had included skipping lessons she had promised to attend. If challenged Valla would reply that she was running laps instead, as it was good for her. She had discovered a surprising tolerance. It had only given her ideas.

This lesson was to be an exception. Knives. Even the word gave her shudders. She still missed the comfort of having a few well placed knives about her person. It was, after all, her introduction to the Gaidin's Tutelage. Knives, and her favorite dagger - the dagger's whereabouts not currently known, which was perhaps just as well. Exactly what it was about the gleam of short steel scything through the air or glinting in her hand Valla knew not. She had felt the cold kiss before, so why her shudder was of keen excitement rather than fear was something to be wondered at. The petite young Saldaean had marks and scars enough to make a dockside heavy proud.

During the general introduction to this weapons session the tutor, Talaban Gaidin, made small mention of his past shadier profession. It seemed to prompt similar confessions from a few of the attending trainees from both the White and Black Towers. Valla would make no such acknowledgement. She knew what and who she was, neither owed anything to the grasping aspirations of a dimming memory. Certainly not in present company. Valla didn't want anyone to think of her in that capacity until it was too late. If they thought about her at all.

"My name is Aethan'Tar Valla Karajan, Gaidin. My preferred weapon is the dagger, I used to own one before..." Her scar pulled up her lips into the ghost of a sardonic smile, but it deepened for just a moment. "However, I have been known to loose a throwing knife or two upon would-be mentors" She referred to her arrival at the training yards. "Although I am at ease with the basics, I feel that you can never learn enough."

OOC: Thank you for letting me join! Better late than never. Valla will play nice.
