Section Wide RP: To the Borderlands (All!)
Fri Dec 1, 2006 02:14 (XFF:

As far as Jield knew, everything was ready. All of the horses had been well-fed and loaded up with supplies and were waiting, tied up, in the field closest to the Traveling Yards. Allowances had been made for his absence, as well as many the many from the Training Grounds that would be going with him; he had seen some disappointed faces last night as he made the final preparations amongst the trainees, but he had told them to sign up for the little adventure earlier, and those who hadn’t simply weren’t allowed to go.

In Jield’s time as Head Gaidin there had never been anything as big as this, and he was understandably nervous about it. All of them – Aethan’Tar, Sei’Tar and Gaidin – would be no doubt watched by the Aes Sedai coming, and he wanted to make the best impression possible. He’d been quite lucky with those that had said they had like to come, there were some in the group that he’d keep a very tight eye on, but there was no one that would cause too much trouble – or at least he hoped so. If anyone did then there would be harsh consequences to pay, and Jield had laid that out to each person who was coming along.

It had been close to a month ago that he had been approached by the Aes Sedai, who had told them of their expedition to the Borderlands. They had given a brief outline of the purpose of their expedition, but they had left it typically vague. The borderlands were a dangerous area, and so the Aes Sedai (most of them did not have Warders) had asked for a group of Gaidin to go with them, in case any trouble did arise. Such an opportunity to have a group venture into the Borderlands did not arise nearly as often as Jield would have liked, as they were quite hard to organize, and so he had quickly taken advantage of the situation as best he could, with the Aes Sedai’s permission of course. After some extensive and careful planning on both sides, all of the Training Grounds was welcome to come.

He was especially grateful to the Aes Sedai for the part that they would play with the Sei’Tar – for their task was something that he’d been trying to work out quite a lot lately. It was unfortunate, but some of the Gaidin just didn’t seem to have enough experience with Aes Sedai – he’d learnt that recently after his work with Jayani Sedai – and he decided to work on the problem before they became Gaidin, so that each Gaidin raised would be a better candidate for a Warder.

He hadn’t told the trainees much at all, mainly that there was to be an expedition to the Borderlands and that a limited number of trainees were welcome to come along; they’d also been told that they’d be learning some useful survival skills, and that the trip wouldn’t take away from their training because they would be training on some days. The Gaidin who were attending pretty much knew the whole of the situation and what they would be expected to do with the Aes Sedai and with the trainees, and most of them seemed quite happy to oblige. He wanted the rest to be a surprise to the trainees; some parts were mundane, yes, but there were other parts which would be a break from the monotonous routine of training in the Training Grounds.

On his way to the Traveling Yards he whistled and Thistle, his brown mare, picked up her head and looked at him, making him smile – she was all ready with the other horses.

When he arrived at the Traveling Yards, some of the Aes Sedai were already there waiting for him, so he bowed to them respectively before greeting them personally. It was still a bit too early for the trainees to arrive yet, so Jield looked through the list that he had of names of those coming – no one would be allowed to come unless their name was on that list – and checked that they had arranged enough provisions for that many people. One of the Gaidin, Zekian al’Thuros had arrived early however, and so Jield gave the list across to him and asked the man to mark off names when Jield told the trainees to report as present.

It didn’t take long for the first trainee to show up, and after that one people started flocking in until they had quite a crowd gathered within the Traveling Grounds. Once Jield thought that everyone that was supposed to be there was there, he drew their attention to him and began.

“Welcome, Aethan’Tar, Sei’Tar, and Gaidin. These next few days promise to be an exciting change to the training of the Training Grounds and I’ve very pleased that you’ve all come. Before we begin however, I want you to line up in a single file line and tell Zekian Gaidin your name, so that we know you’re all here. We’ll also be able to see if any of you who aren’t supposed to be here are here.”

OOC: Oooookay! Yay, is anyone ready for a Section Wide RP? Okay, so this is pretty much how this will work. This is open to Aethan’Tar, Sei’Tar and Gaidin – you’re all welcome to attend. You all need to post to this introduction, and make sure your character put their name down in advance ;-) In a week (on Friday the eighth of December) I will post the next part to this RP, which is where all the fun happens. I’ll outline it more then, but basically, you’ll be able to write out your very own RP, with someone else or by yourself (and here Sei’Tar will get something special!), in which you do the camping and training gig, but then also we’ll be having a battle. It will be real, and I’m not going to say anymore about it just yet (Although we are in the Borderlands, what do you expect? =Þ). Through your RP you will have a chance to earn many different credits, even MRP! And it’s all based on how much you write (note: you alone, an RP partner’s word count goes towards their own count.). So you can begin to plan, here is the credit system!

Aethan’Tar & Sei’Tar

If you write at least 2,000 words, you get a credit.

If you write at least 4,000 words, you get two credits.

If you write at least 5,000 words, you get an Aes Sedai Tasks and a credit

If you write at least 6,000 words, you get an MRP credit

If you write at least 8,000 words, you get MRP credit and a credit.

If you write at least 9,000 words, you get Aes Sedai Tasks credit and two credits.

If you write at least 10,000 words, you get MRP credit and two credits.

Now, these credits can be put towards for Aethan’Tar: sword RP, weaponry, and optional; and for Sei’Tar: specialized weaponry 1 & 2, and optional. Note: Sei’Tar cannot put it towards teaching credit.

Now, Gaidin – two of you are on your way to fourth rank, and so if you type at least 8,000 words and make sure you use the weapon that you’re specializing in (I think they’re both swords). If you do this, then this RP can count towards one of the strings you must complete on your way to fourth rank! Now you other Gaidin can just join for fun, and to stay active! =D You can always team up with someone for an interesting RP ;-)

Since most of you guys are inactive, nearing deletion, I expect lots of people joining!
