Newly adopted Doodle!

Hi fellow doodlers!
I recently adopted a 10 month old male F1 Goldendoodle, Captain. I have never owned a Goldendoodle but have owned Golden Retrievers.
Captain's best friend is our other dog, a 4 month old female Golden Retriever named Phoebe. They are amazing together.
We have only had him for 1 week, he is in his teenage phase so he has some issues.. mainly barking. Do most Doodles do this from the poodle side?
Also, how do you groom your doodles. I am a dog groomer and have done many doodles and many different hair cuts but I like the short cuts better, especially in this Toronto weather.
As I mentioned Cap is 10 months old and he is not a ball chaser which bothers me as my older golden retriever and 1 standard poodle were avid ballers. Is it something he will grow into? We brought the dogs to a creek yesterday and they both jumped in which was encouraging as we want swimming dogs, but neither of them will chase a ball!! Very frustrating!

We have tried the laser pointer, they are interested in it until they find the source, then they are over it which is unfortunate. My other Golden was crazy about it, and balls and water. He was an... more

My Goldendoodle who is 13 months will chase a ball on occasion. But often tires of the game. I think I'm usually the one retrieving the ball. I thought for sure she would be like the typical ball... more
