Chasing balls

My Fletcher is an F1 goldendoodle and is 2 1/2 years old. He shows no interest in balls or sticks. He has, and still does, love his "little buddy" laser light. We go out in the dark and he runs like crazy trying to catch the red dot of light. All I have to do is ask if he wants to go play with "little buddy" and he jumps right up and is at the door. The only thing to be aware of is that shinning the red light into the eyes can cause damage. So some caution is needed.
