Well now we are looking in to getting a Goldendoodle. Its been about 12 years since I have had a dog in my life. When I moved out of my parents house I wasn't able to take on having any dogs, being I lived in a apartment. Well now I'm married have a house and live in a neighborhood that the dog can play. There are many dogs in our neighborhood, plus we have a neighborhood where everyone knows each other. Only about 50 homes.
We work from home so the dog will not be left home alone a lot. But we do have our cat that is 7 years old. Will the cat adjust to the dog and vs. versus? The cat can defend her self. And she has been exposed to other dogs. But those where all short "visits". I do plan on getting a cat tree for her, which she doesn't have right now. I haven't seen the need for one as of yet.
Is there anything else that help with bringing a new puppy in to a cat family. By the way I have had dogs, cats, bird, houses, and many other animals as a kid. But now looking at this as an adult, so looking to make sure both animal aren't "traumatized" by the new additions to the family.

Thanks, I'll check that out and see if the breeder I'm looking at does that. But our cat has her claws and does tolerate young kids very well and other dogs that she has been exposed to.
