Hi everyone. I am really nervous about posting here, I've never done anything like this and I am in a really embarrassing position because I know I made a mistake.

I purchased a mini goldendoodle from a breeder I found on Craigslist. I don't have her last name but I WILL be turning her in once I do some more research on the proper steps to take. I purchased my "8 week old" on Sunday and by Monday he had a cough. We took him to the vet for his wellness checkup and to find out if the cough was okay and he had a respiratory infection so they put him on antibiotics. The next day we brought him back because it got worse and he had blood in his stool. He wasn't eating or drinking water, he could barely hold his head up...it was devastating to say the least. They said he has an intestinal parasitic infection and pretty much has pneumonia. Heartbreaking but I'm happy to say he is slowly improving each day. I don't care what it costs to get him healthy, I am making sure he is well taken care of.

Now that I know we got him from a bad breeder, my concern is that everything they told us was not true and documents were forged.

That leads me to posting here with questions: They said he was born Jan. 2nd, so that makes him just over 9 weeks. He weight only 1 pound 8 ounces (he gained 2 ounces in 2 days, yay!!). Is this normal? How do I gauge his age to weight? I don't even know if that is his true DOB. They claimed he would get up to 25-30 pounds but that is impossible with his current weight (and age if it is true).

I'm looking for any advice or thoughts, please without judgment, that anyone here has to offer.

It is really appreciated. Thanks in advance.
