Thanks Sue, this is great! I've never seen a picture of Riehl before and I don't believe he testified at Flemington either as his testimony would have only muddied the waters of the prosecution's case.

I do believe Fisch could well have been at Woodlawn and that he was the man on top of one of the 14 foot stone columns, as observed by Riehl.

Riehl would have noticed him on the backside of the high column as he approached from inside the cemetery, while Condon was talking with Cemetery John through the fence some distance from that stone column at ground level. Condon later described CJ to the artist Berryman, and we all know who that guy looks like. Condon would not have even noticed the man on top of the stone column, the man seen by Riehl.

So with Riehl's attention on the column man only, until he got close enough to the fence to see and meet up with Condon, he was able to provide a good description of the column man before he jumped down and took off. That's why Fisch comes to mind first and foremost here. Condon never even saw the column man, while Riehl would not have seen CJ, because he took off well before Riehl caught up with Condon at the fence.

You may have to read this slowly for it to actually make sense.. if I was Berryman, I'd sketch it out and then it would probably make perfect sense!
