Interesting Sue, but was the date of this encounter ever confirmed as March 12, 1932? Stickney doesn't make this clear based on any reference other than they were in town looking for girls. I tend to think it could have been around that time, but quite possibly not that very night. And it wouldn't be too hard to believe that word of Condon's meeting with CJ had gotten out among some of the local detectives in the days following March 12, and so presence there had been "unofficially" beefed up.
