the case

Whether guilty or innocent of kidnapping, murder, or extortion, Wilentz's witnesses included liars, charlatans, and unethical handwriting experts who have to be entirely stricken from OUR record before we, the jury, can deliberate. There was no attempt to find anyone else once Bruno was found w/ lots of ransom money. I call that obstruction of justice. I cannot conceive of Lindy being "OK" with those ridiculous witnesses. They were so transparently lying. How could he even have faith in the Osbornes, after one of them first said Bruno didnt write the notes and then changed his mind? If he was "running things," why would he have allowed such testimony? I would think he would've been briefed ahead of time if he was "running" things. Did he ever tell Wilentz to stop bringing those perjured witnesses? It shows me that like Wilentz, Lindy did not have any ethics. They both behaved like Mafiosa would. I am not yet ready to say that he allowed those witnesses to testify bec. he was the real culprit.

Richard, do you actually view the connection between the ransom note writing and Hauptmann's writing as something requiring a QDE to tell you? Those experts at the trial were not the only ones who... more
