Sue for Richard Sloan
Al Quippone
Sat Jan 13, 2018 10:49

(Al Quippone, NOT Al Capone's connection to the Lindbergh case!)

According to the Daily Argus:

Al Quippone was a gas station attendant near Hauptmann's home, where Hauptmann regularly bought gas for his car.

Quippone was also drinking buddies with Hauptmann at Joseph Henzmann's beer tavern in the Bronx.

Quippone was sought out for his opinions in September of 1934, and told reporters that Hauptmann regularly discussed the Lindbergh kidnapping at that tavern.

Quippone shared that Hauptmann voiced the opinion that the perpetrator of the Lindbergh crime should be hanged.

Quippone and Hauptmann regularly attended Henzmann's beer garden which was located just a few hundred feet from the Hauptmann house.

In the article, Hauptmann's house location is identified as:

"in a completely isolated section of 1 Edenwald at the corner of Needham Avenue and 222nd Street."
