In the series of Lindbergh ransom notes Hauptmann writes the word "money" a total of fourteen times. He spells the word as "mony" ten times and correctly as "money" four times.

After Condon received the March 30 ransom note communication he placed an advertisement in the newspaper reading, "I accept. Money is ready. Jafsie".

It is after Condon places the message in the newspaper that Hauptmann begins spelling "money" correctly. Why? Because Hauptmann read Condon's message.

Fast forward two and a half years to Hauptmann's request writings. You find Hauptmann writing the word "money" ten times during dictation. Nine times he spelled it as "mony" and only once correctly as "money". Two and a half years after the kidnapping and he still could not spell the word "money" consistently. He had quite a spelling habit with this word.

By the way, the words were written very quickly without any undue hesitation or stalling during the writing process.

Great thinking and doing, Mike. Can we put the question of whether BRH was the kidnapper from day 1 to his arrest to bed now? Hope so.
