Well, according to the report I quoted above, the Osborns did not believe Hauptmann was the writer. That agrees with Trendley's position. Therefore, saying its not true doesn't make that true. I only said that based upon a report written by the LE who were there. Obviously I was not. But I also believed they laughed about their change of heart once the ransom was discovered. According to you I am wrong about that too.

But according to the report I'm right.

My definition of a true science is one that is reliable. While there is some degree of science to this, there is also too much guess-work involved for me to consider it reliable to the point where if an "Expert" says something it actually would be true. It might not be and that's a serious problem. Just look at the Ramsey case. Either she wrote that note or she didn't. YET - there are "Experts" who say "no," and there are "Experts" who say "yes." Now take a look at a real science like Ballistics. Unlike handwriting analysis, that science will actually yield solid proof of something.

As far as "Experts" in this field goes... My favorite is Trendley. Why? Because he wasn't liked by those in his field. Why? Because he was such a good forger he would prepare exhibits in his own hand which Attorneys he worked for would use to get other "Experts" to say were authentic. So in essence he was debunking those in his own field. So of course he wasn't on their good side.

Albert S. Osborn did not agree with John Trendley. Saying so does not make it so. You bet it's fangs and claws with John Trendley. Someone like him is very dangerous to the legal profession. This is... more

You are arguing both sides of the stick. What you should be saying is that you don't like that they were amused by the fact that "Experts" needed to hear the ransom was discovered before their... more

It's hard to argue with the totality of the handwriting evidence against Hauptmann from such a battery of QDE's overall. For the layman, I just shake my head at the obvious similarities between the... more
