Fisher was a defense lawyer then later the Hunterdon County Prosecutor. He made these statements about Paynter admitting this to him across both positions over a span of two decades. Nothing about it is speculative. You don't believe it so someone has to be lying for your position to be true. I think you should first ask "why" then consider who had a motive. Next, how does it help Hauptmann? It doesn't. It was never evidence of the Kidnapping and only harms him in the Extortion - something which Fisher never denied afterwards and during the time he told people what Paynter admitted to him.

At the very least what I've found clears up the story. So now we know who-said-what and the origins of it. No more Cassidy. No more "its a lie" or accusing Scaduto of making it up. Here is it and I leave it up to everyone to decide and/or to consider it for themselves.
