Morrow & Lindbergh Employees

Thanks for Cowe's statement.

Do you know if Cowe was Scottish?

Might he have been the Scottish gardener that Anne Lindbergh refers to in her books?

I don't think Burns said the Morrow gardener who confessed to him at his church was Scottish.

Burns' book was published in 1972, so he was recalling the events of 1932 forty years later.

Maybe some of these Morrow servants took on several roles as employees on the Morrow and Lindbergh estates such as gardener, chauffeur, overseer, watchman, superintendent...

I have read in a few places that the Morrows paid their employees well.

One of the 1933 Atlanta Constitution articles says that employees on the Morrow estate were rarely fired, but some of the LKC books say otherwise.

George Anderson was the caretaker at Highfields in 1935.

In the The Wartime Journals of Charles A. Lindbergh, Lindbergh says that when he went back to Highfields in 1940, I think it was 1940, and that he was met at the door by the caretaker, Mr. Lyons. (See page 418)

Thanks for the list. Yes, the country where these servants originated from would be very helpful.

I know its somewhere but I just can't find it unfortunately. Part of the reason might be because I have about 60 files pulled at the moment so I have material all over the place. I want to check my... more
