I've been tracing the Dawson family of Longwood for many years. My grandfather's aunt Alice Leech married John Dawson in 1866 he and his brother Dan I discovered were pioneers in the production of Dyes, originally producing Dyes from Wood they later investigated and invented processes to extract Coloured Dyes and became very successful. John ran the Kirkheaton Colour Works until the 1890s where he employed about 100 people. Dan was a pioneer in the production of colured Dye's running his business from Milnsbridge, Huddersfield.

I'm currently Tracing the Dawson family and if anyone has any connection please contact me, my email can be located on my web page;
