My name is Helen Goodman, nee Fielding. I’m wondering if there is anyone left in Golcar who remembers my family. I was born at 46 Station Rd in 1958. I have lived in New Zealand since 1963 but am finally going ‘home’’ to Yorkshire next year. My mum Peggie also known as Marjorie, passed away in New Zealand last year and I would like to trace her family history and hopefully meet up with people who knew her and her parents. My wonderful grandparents were Tom and Edith Whiteley, who lived in Golcar. Grandma was a weaver in her day and Grandad worked for David Brown tractors I believe. If anyone has any records of my family’s history I would love you to get in touch.
