Johnny Cash and LVC?
Fri Aug 4, 2017 11:41am

I'm curious if anyone knows of a connection between Lee Van Cleef and Johnny Cash. Ever since I was in diapers, JC has been an integral part of my life-songs, books, spoken words and even his attempts at acting. I know Mr. Cash was a HUGE western fan, and would often stand in front of the TV with a holster and six gun, practicing his draw against James Arness on Gunsmoke.

There are many parallels: failed marriages, addiction, redemption and an air of COOL. I always hear "I don't like Country, but I like Johnny Cash." I'm still not a big Western fan, but I do love me some Lee Van Cleef.

I know Cash wanted to act, and Cleef played several instruments and sang in a few flicks, but I'm not sure if I'm drawing my own parallels, or there was some interaction, haven't found much on the interwebs.
