Actually, Sinatra and Lawford had a huge falling out. Something to do with JFK canceling a stay at Sinatra's house due to Sinatra's alleged criminal ties. Sinatra felt that Lawford didn't make any real effort to dispel the rumors. They became bitter enemies according to many accounts.

I don't dislike Oceans 11. I find it very funny. But I think I'm laughing at the actors rather than with them. I could be wrong but I doubt that was the film's intention. Robin and the Seven Hoods is another example. A slightly more modern example of what I would refer to as an overindulgent film is Cannonball Run, basically a Bert Reynolds vehicle which I felt was pure unadulterated garbage.
